Wow!

It's Thanksgiving and I realized that I haven't posted anything in a while.  Well it has been busy, I've been penciling a book called Avenger Red and working on another project called Bigfoot Fights the Monsters.  In the seconds of spare time I have, I've also been working on color/flats for a local book 'Super' by Justin Newberry of Aberrant Press.  Good times.

Soon!

So with all of the conventions coming up and the possibility of being at more this year, I've now attempted to but my comics up in a digital format for the low price of $1.  It may not make since to many of my colleagues but I've made that decision to give the consumer a choice.  I believe that there is a large portion of the digital comic book industry that independents need to take advantage of while they still can.  I hope to reach a larger market by putting out material this way.  Wish me luck, I'll post the link as soon as I get it.

Comic Strips!

This was the only piece I ever inked with a brush...I see know why I don't ink with a brush.

Weird drawings just got bloody!

I always loved this drawing but nobody else ever did.  I like it though and it fits in the category of weird!

More weird drawings.

So, I don't take any medication (believe it or not) but this image came to me while I was sitting at a stop light. Needless to say, I rushed home and banged it out.  I find that several bi-polar individuals are fans of this piece:

Weird drawings.

Yes, I'm not as articulate with my words as Michael Chabon (currently reading The Yiddish Policemen's Union) but I use to draw some weird shit.  For example:
The lettering is supposed to be Japanese for 'poo.'  If this is wrong only Google Translate is to blame (I'm from Nebraska...I don't freaking know Japanese!)

Avenger Red art

So I'm roughly through the first book of the Avenger Red Graphic Novel and I haven't posted anything because I've always felt very secretive about new projects, but here is a taste.

Art for the Avengers VS X-Men party at Maximum Comics 2.0

I pulled this from the Artist Creative Collective page:
Here we have David Rodriguez at Maximum 2.0 who won both Free Isabelo's art and Daniel Blodgett's art as well as the very limited edition AvX Avengers poster by Arnel Baluyot.

Out of the kindness of my heart I did this original Avengers piece for a raffle at the comic shop.  This was very fun and challenging to complete.

Read another script!

Damn...I'm going to be working on two graphic novels over the course of a year.  I know I can do it but that means that my own books will have to take a back seat for now.  Oh well, do what you love.

Finished reading a script.

I just finished reading the new script for Avenger Red and I like it.  Written by Adam Krenn I find that this will be a fun project going forward and I hope to post updates very soon.

8bit radio

If you don't listen to 8bit music I understand, it's somewhat boring compared to the barrage of #Nickleback played on your local terrestrial radio stations but, there is something about it that takes me back to the time when life consisted of me and a simple two button controller; http://8bit-radio.com/

Sequential page

I don't have permission to post this but how cares!

Here is a concept art piece for another graphic novel I'm working on.

Here is a sample of one of my current projects!

Well I finally did it.

Hello blog world, my name is Daniel Blodgett and  I'm a comic book artist.  Yes, you haven't heard of me and that's fine, I'm not one to force feed how great and amazing I am down one's throat, but I love what I do and that's enough for me.

Currently I'm working on my MBA and working on producing two graphic novels at the same time.  I know it sounds like much but with budgeting my time wisely I can accomplish all without going insane.  Lucky for me I'm completing my MBA online one class at a time so this helps with absorbing material and not going crazy just trying to get all of my work done.

Other than that, I currently have self published four comic books and two kids books.  Yes you've never heard of them but hey, that's why its fun.

I'll be posting updates in regards to my most recent graphic novel adventures for your enjoyment.  Keep posted and enjoy the craziness!
